We had a leak in the shower supply pipe that was behind the wall. These were the plumbers selected by our strata manager to conduct the repair. What an experience this was! Where do I begin?

Firstly, we made sure we were home to let them in to scope the repair, only to have them not show up on not one, but two occasions. When we queried the strata manager as to when the repair scope would be happening, Metro had told them that we were the ones being difficult with scheduling. Huh?
There were many more occasions of the strata manager saying “the plumber is trying to get in touch with you” or “the plumber says he has tried to call you X amount of times”, but there were no missed calls or messages on my phone (which I have with me 24/7 for work reasons, so it’s never on silent either).

The repair - what a pleasant experience this was.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but usually before you go cutting into a wall that has water pipes you would turn the water off first? No, not these guys. Water. Everywhere. The plumber spent a good 10-15 minutes looking for the water main to turn it off, all the while water was gushing out of and into the wall cavity.
The quality of the cut into the wall also left a lot to be desired. All the tiles on the border of his main cut were damaged, not to mention the original tile footrest was destroyed when they dropped something onto it. I received the “it was already cracked and I just touched it and it fell apart” excuse. Yeah…. riiiight.
The poor tiler (who I had to schedule by the way because Metros couldn't organise a beer in a brewery) had to replace double the amount of tiles as he should have, plus had to take the entire shower apart to access the damaged tiling.
As the shower repair guy was cleaning up I overheard him on the phone to Metros, and as he walked out the door he mentioned that the plumber would be around this afternoon to refit the taps and shower head. (He usually completes the refit himself, but the plumber had taken the shower head for some unknown reason). Needless to say I waited around all afternoon for the guy to rock up, but once again was a no show. That’s #3. When queried about it they lied to my face and said “that conversation never happened”.

Trying to organise the refit of the shower head and taps – another nightmare. According to our strata manager, Metros had informed them that during a phone conversation with me I had said that I would contact them to schedule in the refit as I was “busy”. Uh….. Ok. A fake conversation.
When confronted about the conversation that never happened– I was hung up on. Charming.

To summarise: Don’t use this dodgy company. From blatant lying and not bothering to show up, through to shoddy workmanship and customer service far worse than an overbooked United Airlines flight.
